FAQ

The questions people ask before signing up. Nothing hidden.

Is this gambling? Is it legal?

Edge Engine sells predictions, not bets. We don't hold any money, don't process wagers, and don't operate a sportsbook. You get probability estimates and recommendations. Placing an actual bet is on you, with a licensed sportsbook operating in your jurisdiction.

Sports predictions are legal to sell and consume in the U.S. Whether betting on those predictions is legal for you depends on where you live — most U.S. states now permit legal online sportsbooks, but rules vary. Check your local law before wagering.

Do I need a sportsbook account to use this?

To act on the picks, yes — you need an account with a licensed sportsbook in your state (DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and Kalshi are common ones). We don't set that up for you.

If you just want to see how our model performs without betting anything, that's fine too — you can subscribe, track the picks, and satisfy yourself that the accuracy claims are real before ever placing a wager.

How much can I actually expect to make?

Honest answer: much less than most sites will promise you. A ~60% win rate on winners-only moneyline picks translates to roughly 3-8% ROI on wagered volume over the long run, before you subtract sportsbook juice.

That is a real, positive number — most bettors run negative — but it compounds slowly. If you're placing $50 bets and betting responsibly, you'd expect to be up a small amount over a month with occasional bad weeks. Anyone promising 30%+ monthly is selling something else.

Set your expectations against that reality. If you want to bet for fun and let a model do the work, this is for you. If you're looking for a fast doubling of your bankroll, this isn't.

What if the model has a bad week?

It will. That's how a probabilistic system works. A 60% WR means you'll lose 40% of the time, and losses cluster — a 4-loss run is completely normal and doesn't mean the model broke.

The important thing is the long-term aggregate. The accuracy page tracks every single graded prediction — you can see the aggregate, and you can zoom out to see whether recent short-term dips are within normal variance.

When picks are wrong, we don't quietly delete them. They stay on the record.

What's the free trial?

7 days of full access. No credit card required to start. You'll see every daily pick, every confidence interval, every piece of reasoning — same as a paying member.

On day 7, if you've added a payment method, we continue your subscription at $19/mo. If you haven't, access just stops. There's no auto-charge, no phone call to cancel a card we never had.

How do I cancel?

From your account page. One button. No phone call, no email chain, no retention specialist. You'll keep access through the end of your current billing period, then your account switches off.

Payments are processed through Stripe, so if anything ever looks wrong on a charge you have their standard dispute protections in addition to ours.

Which sports are covered?

In-season right now: MLB, WNBA, EPL, MLS, NCAA football, and tennis (ATP/WTA main tours plus Challengers).

Coming as their seasons start: NFL (Sep 4), NHL and NBA (October). Off-season sports drop out of the pick feed automatically.

Where can I contact support?

Email replies come from the actual person building the site. Response is usually within 24 hours on weekdays. There's no support team behind the scenes — good and bad. The good: you're talking to someone who understands the model. The bad: response times slip on weekends.

Use the contact page or the email address on it.
